A little tweet for you

Im not a great fan of the current social networking craze, i think its destroying the art of conversation and face to face communication (says I, writing a web-based blog). But having just seen these truly stunning images sent from the International Space Station via Twitter, i'm having to eat my (typed) words. Soichi Noguchi has begun to tweet live images from space during his tour on the ISS. To recall the blurred, grainy images of the moonlanding I watched on tv forty-odd years ago and remember how dissapointed I was at not being able to see much of this ground breaking event and then to compare it to these amazing pictures is a strange feeling.
He has sent images of the mundane - a freshly delivered apple, to the wonderous - the station flying into the upper atmospheric Aurora Borealis and all with virtually no delay. Have a look at his postings and marvel at the stunning views here : http://twitpic.com/1dfw9y
