It's a sad day today I'm afraid. After a brief illness our little seven year old Pig had to be put to sleep this morning. A lively and well-loved member of the family since 2003 Pig will be sorely missed. I thought after such a long winter she might see one more summer but her sufferings over now. I'll remember how happy she was on the sofa eating cucumber and watching TV with me. we shouldn't really get so attached to pets but I suppose that's what being human is about.

My sincere condolences, Paul. I know what it's like when the furry member of the family is no longer there. They're more than pets, you're totally right in that. I'm sure Pig leaves you with lots of good memories.

ReplyDeleteI've wondered the same about pets, but if you don't allow yourself to become attached to them, well you miss out on so much. Far better to care and lose, than not to care at all.
