Here's another knockoff toy I walked past in pound shops in the 1990's. Wish I'd have at least bought one for a pound! Like THUNDERCOP it's a TB2 knockoff, but a lot cheaper looking. It's called Space Travel. A sort of pull-string whirling ring toy - not sure how the TB2 part fitted in? Anyone got one?
I don't remember these at all.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not mistaken the rotor attaches to the top of the TB2 which is fitted to the launcher. You the pull the cord with vigor and the whole craft launches vertically. That toy is identical in all aspects to a toy I once owned except that it had a chopper body rather than TB2.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had similar pull-string UFO's as a kid. It says on the packet (not mine by the way) that it flies up to 30 feet! That TB2 would be lethal dropping from that height!
ReplyDeleteThinking back to these as a kid I've thought of a completely different toy for some reason, WALLWALKERS! I still have two of them somewhere - they walked down windows on suction cups like a plastic slinky thing! They were so brill, I can see them now 'walking' down the lounge window in a race!
