SUGAR PUFFS SPLASHDOWN BY THE PHILOSOPHIC TOAD

Beautifully scanned 1960's slide from Toad collection of Kellog's MOONSHOT slides. Bet they look great projected onto a wall!
The Aopollo re-entry module, with it's hude red and white patachutes, has to be one of the most graceful machines that Mankind has ever biult. A potent symbol of peaceful exploration and homecoming surely as relevant today as back then. It made us bigger.

  1. I'd say 'A potent symbol of Cold War rivalry as relevant today as back then.' And it certainly made the U.S. national debt bigger;-)

Looks like Project Sword's bleak back-story didn't diminish your idealism, Paul!

  2. I'm curious as to what year these slides were included in the sereal packets. I would like to have collected them myself.

  3. I'd like to know too, RP. Still have not found any printed advertisements for them :(

  5. I don't know RP, I like the idea of Serial Packets of Murderous Munchies with free Michael Myers Face Mask inside!

And yes Sean, I'm approaching 50, grouchy, impatient and often tired of modernity but occassionally we out-do ourselves with great gestures like the Moonlanding. I still believe we will do something awe-inspiring like it again, when the whole world will look up. It just may not be in my lifetime!

  6. I do hope you are right, Woodsy. Because wouldn't that be something - making the world look up instead of down or inward!
