SPACE ATTACK BECOMES STAR ATTACK FROM ARTO

Got some news for the Space Attack thread (Nov. 28th & Dec. 5th). I found a loose set of these Thunderbirds knock-offs plus aliens some years ago and they have puzzled me ever since - I've been quite fascinated by their crudeness and ominous colour palette. By chance I just today came across a set called Star Attack, a some kind of stellar defense base plus an alien included also in the Space Attack set. This Star Attack is "Made in China" and has an item number 1328BC - which leads us to this website belonging to Ideal Toy Manufactory Co., Ltd. (HK). And there it is, still available - the Space Attack set, now under the name Star Attack (item no. 1328WB), all the five Thunderbirds vehicle lookalikes still present.

Excellent detective work Arto! Its amazing that Colourforms Outerspacemen, one of the rarest sets of Sixties toys that there are, are still being mass-produced as little clones with mini TB's in China! And you can order dozens of them! A crazy world. But fascinating so thanks for sharing. Let's see what other Sixties knockoffs there are! Woodsy
