Woodsy, As I said in my comment on the "Space Attack Knock-Off set" I thought that they had been copied from the playing pieces from the Thunderbirds board game (1993 Ed.). Now that I've had a look at the enclosed images I'm not quite as sure but some changes may have occurred during the manufacture so have a look at these images and see what you think!
