AOSHIN TINPLATE THUNDERBIRD 2 - TIN HEAVEN!

Ever since I first read in Dennis's epic "Guide" back in the early 90's that there existed a Thunderbird 2 made of tin I have been fascinated by the idea. What a clunky shape to beat out, the ugly beauty that is TB2! As Dennis explains the tin TB2 was made by AOSHIN of Japan, whom I know had a crack at a wonderfully blue-ish Batmobile too (saw one recently at Elsecar Toy Fair - the dealer seemed to be amazed when I knew what it was!). I managed to come across these great images of the AOSHIN TB2 online on 'Robot Empire'. It looks like the best birthday cake on Tracy Island in its wonderful window box! Wish ASDA did them! Its a fab looking thing and really looks great in tin - from the looks of it they've done a fine job. The fins and trim are plastic I think. The only clunky parts are the wheels at the rear but I kinda like 'em! Unlike many a TB2 toy I don't think this one dropped its pod (can I say that?). And there's the classic gold and red sticker we see on all those fantastic Imai kits from Japan, some of which say Century 21! So Swordheads, has anybody got one of these babies nestling in their toy cabinet away from prying eyes? Want to share a few snaps and a story! Wish there was some tin SWORD! Are there any other tinplate Andersons? Or could I say Andertins!
