Hi Paul, As promised I took some pictures of my new Italian HOVER Booster Rocket for your disposal. The exhaust pipe of the Booster Rocket does not fit too well to the main body, so I did not try to force it to avoid it from breaking. I also left the chromed little jet loose, so that the mechanism would stay visible. Sounds like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" but somewhere in Italy, there is a long-forgotten warehouse with old toy samples from the 60's and 70's - or that's at least how I have pictured it for myself... Hover Booster Rocket is in ex shop (or ex-warehouse) condition, never played with, including original carboard insert, and the box is a dream come true. I did not even have the heart to put it together yet, just checked the contents. Especially the little chrome jet seems so brittle that I wonder how it ever endured play (probably did not). The box is certainly interesting, a crossover of SWORD, NASA and Hover. So there is a connection between Hover and NASA - does it pertain to other toys too?
Arto
Fabulous fabulous Arto! Arto kindly donated a second HOVER Booster Rocket to me for the bloggiversary. Talk about gobsmacked! It really is a wonderful wonderful toy, completely new to me, the blog and most Swordheads I suspect. The box art is exactly the same as the Century 21 version. The italian connection is fascinating. I love the Italian CONSORTI sticker on the box. We've seen it before on the blog on the remote - controlled Probe Force 3 found in Italy. Italian SWORD! There'll be even more revelations about SWORD in Italy from Arto later this week! Ciaio bene!
now that is a good looking toy!
