ED VALIGURSKY PASSES AWAY

7
Having made contact with his family this summer I was greatly saddened to hear of the death of Ed Valigursky on the 7th September at his Florida home. Born in 1926 Ed was one of the foremost Sci-Fi artists of his generation creating some of the most iconic and beautiful images of spaceships, which lavished the pages of books and magazines during the 1950's and 60's. In the early 1960's Ed illustrated Arther C. Clarke's seminal 'Man and Space' book with wonderfully rendered visions of rockets and lunar housing prescient of the coming space programme and the toys which made our childhoods truly golden. Out of respect for the Valigursky family and the memory of Ed I have postponed the planned blog First Birthday celebration until tomorrow, the 17th. If you would like to leave any messages of condolence (as comments) I will make sure that the family gets to see them.
