Galaxy April 1957
Here's another fabulous Galaxy cover from April 1957. I love the image but I'm unclear what's going on. Are the whales chasing cockpit-tipped whale subs?
Incredible art!
What do you think?
Stop the Clocks!
Well the clocks have gone back here in the UK and British Summer Time is officially over.
9 weeks to Christmas, Winter round the corner. Bbrrrr!
Still I know it's getting a lot warmer in some places on the globe.
It's cold but sunny here this Sunday. We're just tidying up before the Grandkids arrive for a three day half term break here at MoonBase.
Just need to make some sausages for breakfast butties when they arrive.
What are you up to today readers? And is it Sunday?

As your Imaginations!
Micronauts knockoffs pop up from time to time, so these two toys on eBay seemed likely suspects. But are they?
The Saturn No.2 looks like a figure could sit on it. It appears to be a sort of plastic heli-kart. It reminds of a sand yacht.
It's a snap together model.
Anyone got one?
The Space Defender looks like a figure can be created with the parts. 22+ models can be made in fact!
I particularly like the Superman flying pose, which echoes another Superman toy I've seen.
As your imaginations!
Anyone got this?

Amazing Science Fiction Spacecraft
I have to say I love the design of this spaceship on the cover of Amazing Science Fiction March 1976.
I don't know who the artist is.
I really like the organic bat-like wings and there's hints of Vader's personal shuttle that would come along a year later. Maybe other things too?
Do you like it?
Skyscraper: Between a Rock and a Die Hard place
I caught Skyscraper last night, a 2018 Dwayne Johnson vertical spectacular set in Hong Kong.
As per usual, the Rock saves the day, this time the day being his family ( Scream's Neve Campbell and co) trapped in the world's tallest building and pursued by tooled-up terrorists.
Sound familiar? Yep, comparisons with Bruce Willis's Die Hard are obvious and as the Brucester/ Alan Rickman combo pretty much invented the terrorscraper sub-genre, the Rock's effort would always have been derivative.
Having said that, Skyscraper is a watchable rockbuster and it passed a couple of hours pleasantly.
The height effects were amazing and I had to look away a few times. The giant crane sequence was very neatly done and the crane into the flames scenario seemed familiar. Quatermass and the Pit? Life force?
Have you seen Skyscraper?
Anyways, as Bruce would say jumping off the Nakatomi, yippee kai ay!
Century 21 Toys Luna Len Model Number Anyone?
I'm trying to figure out the model number of this obscure Century 21 Toys toy, Luna Len.
In this battered box I saw online it appears to be A91 on the top flap.
Can anyone confirm that?
Luna Len was released by many toy companies Including Mortoys, Mego and more.
Alphadrome has compiled a fabulous rogues gallery of them on their site.
Marx Batman: the Wet Knight
(Image: AJ, Facebook)
I've been interested in Batman collectables my whole adult life and a few have always remained a mystery.
The Marx Batman carded figure is such a one, an unusual set.
First up, the bat mask looks more like a salad bowl than his classic cowl. I guess the shape is to fit the swimming goggles over his face.
But then, yes, there's the whole underwater theme, what with those air tanks, which look like something from another set. Batman wasn't well known for his swimming, so it's an odd theme for a toy contemporary with the Adam West TV series.
Did Marx rush to get this out?
Anyone got one?
