The Space Receiver was a new one for me as well. As I know the real Mrs K that made the article feel so much more real as I could imagine her acting the way that you describe Tony!
Once again I've discovered another fascinating toy which I wasn't aware of - looks very cool and retro, one I'd love to take a look at - it reminds me of a James Bond poster! Looking forward to reading the next one xx Film Doctorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14847337392437490853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-23392251730746667632016-12-04T11:55:12.549+00:002016-12-04T11:55:12.549+00:00Hiya Woodsy, Yep, I'd overlooked it, but you&#...Hiya Woodsy, Yep, I'd overlooked it, but you're spot on with your mention of the Matt Mason Roto Jet Gun... And you've made me think... wonder if there was a similar toy linked to Lost in Space? Certainly seems like the type of design that would've been used back then. Also, thanks mate, for being kind enough to post this piece on your super cool blog. Hmm tricky one... who knows? It's never easy to tell in the spy game! You're absolutely right though, he does look like Joe Mannix... and I also see Dean Martin's, Matt Helm, there as well. Whatever the case Paul, thank you for your kind comment and remember... we're watchin' yer every move! The pistol reminds me of that evergreen design, the astry Ray. With the pRabola attached it has a feel of the Major Mat Mason Roto Jet Gun ( or was it a Lost in Space toy?). I love the ear plugs. They were all like that back then, chunky and off-yellow. We didn't need streamlining back then. Ha ha. Well done !WOODSYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13456645970983569001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-90520959760412280292016-12-04T08:33:37.771+00:002016-12-04T08:33:37.771+00:00A thrilling tale of subterfuge and mystery, Tony -...A thrilling tale of subterfuge and mystery, Tony - brilliant stuff and lovely pictures!
But you seem to've missed an obvious point, being the resemblance of the character on the box with Mike Connors starring as Mannix in the eponymous crime series. Tip-off or red herring, I wonder? :)

Best -- PaulAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
