Producers will be trying to please younger viewers and, dare I say it the PC brigade. There's a good interview in the current Doctor Who magazine with Terrance Dicks who makes some good points about what type of actor should play the Doctor.SCOOPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17481423869059986451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-26977715604755954592017-02-06T01:01:16.008+00:002017-02-06T01:01:16.008+00:00After watching Dr Who from the first episode back ...After watching Dr Who from the first episode back in '63 and having put up with ever worsening versions of the character over the years it was interesting to briefly have Christopher Eccleston lose the campiness that destroyed the previous run of doctors.
Yes it was good that Capaldi took us out of the kindergarten years, but when scenes of his with the Scots woman playing The Master degenerated into un-followable brogue it became impossible to follow the dialog which is hard enough given the made up science babble.
Would it be possible to have an English Doctor again with little stories that do not involve saving the universe every week? More charming stories like the visit to see Vincent Van Gogh for example.Terranova47https://www.blogger.com/profile/12417687209201322523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-85018776720464198552017-01-31T12:30:34.144+00:002017-01-31T12:30:34.144+00:00I like Capaldi in the role, but then again, I'...I like Capaldi in the role, but then again, I'm not very discerning, I've liked all of them so far!KevinDnoreply@blogger.com
