Hi Woodsy,
Just been going through some of my Japanese Comic Books for Captain Scarlet content and came across this page with an image of a Booster Rocket.
It is in the Shonen Pictorial Book Issue 3 from March 1968 and has a storyline about a young boy with an even younger blind girl in tow.
Regards
Terry
Wow - thats a direct lift from the Valigursky iluustration in the Life 'Man in Space' book. How cool! Bill
ReplyDeleteHow much Japanese Captain Scarlet content do you have, Terry?
ReplyDeleteI only have a Mook and one of those smaller thick books.
All my manga style CS reference has been gleaned from the web and it's pretty thin on the ground.
I made a faux 60's style tin toy SPV and I needed a cartoon style Captain for the roof!
Doing a bit of reasearch before posting, I found my small CS book on a Facebook post and more origonal manga art on eBay...

Hi Lewis, I have around thirty of the Shonen King/Shogakukan comic books from late ‘67 early ‘68. The kindergarten books for 3-6 year olds have the most stylised vehicles but not so much the Spectrum craft but rather those of the organisation that they are fighting. Terry
