A Dream of Paper

I remember buying one of these modern printed copy ephemera sets from Pastimes.

The vintage copy catalogues and papers were really ace.

Not the kind of thing you light your bonfire with!

My favourite had to be the Ellisdons mail-order catalogue. I ordered ordering from them in the early Seventies. Truly happy times. I still dream of buying from them.

I've noticed on Etsy the sets been upgraded to include a box of UK coins from 1967.

Flip, I do recall all those,be specially the Threepenny bit! Do you remember these readers?

  1. Interesting that the florin is missing? Worth two shillings, then morphed into 10p upon decimalisation.

The coin was introduced as a precursor for introducing decimal coinage system back in Victorian times.

    1. Not sure I've seen a florin Terran. My favourite is the farthing featuring a wren.

  2. Ive still got a few old pennies, like dinner plates compared to contemporary coins. I always loved the unique Threepenny bit and the 'tanner' or little silver sixpence. I have very found memories of going into my corner shop to get something from the Penny Tray! Bill
