K-Tel was a big part of my Australian teenage years. Not only the Brush-a-Matic, but the flipping vinyl record stand, the Select-a-Matic! There was also a knife that could cut through ripe tomatoes and tin cans and a rotating cassette tape rack, but I can't remember if those were also K-Tel brand!
K-Tel were prolific in the seventies, I remember that record selector and everyone had a Brush-A-Matic, there was no fluff on our clothes! What about the Buttoneer? A small device like the electric scissors but with a lethal looking tubular needle sticking out like a canula. It came with a ton of fiddly plastic links that were injected into the buttonhole somehow! Theres a similar brand to Romco and K-Tel, think it starts with J, doing the rounds on daytime tv, peddling the same sort of 'useful' tat, so something must have worked, if only the marketing! Bill

I had that rotating tape stand until recently Looey. Flippin eck! 😂
