Not sure why, but Star Wars has never done it for me, so I don't have any collectables. I've done one scratchbuild from it (a light sabre), and that's it.
These masks weren’t around in the seventies and only appeared in the 2000’s. The technology didn’t exist back then, silicon chips only appeared in the latter half of the 80’s
May the Fourth Be With You! Since I have an affinity for fringe items, my favourite Star Wars collectable is something I brought along from London in 1983. The local office of 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm had printed a special poster promising a reward of £5000 for any information on the theft of a RotJ film print. The posters were printed two posters on one sheet, and I was given one such double-sheet whilst visiting the offices.
One sunday morning A long time ago I was browsing A vintage robot And space toys Page on facebook I cant remember its exact Name but it was from the Netherlands. The owner ran a competition To name an item he posted. I guessed correctly it was an original Tooling mold for a kenner 3.75 Boba fett ( i assume). He told me i was correct And i had won the mold! After 5 months of waiting I never received it after excuse After excuse. If i had ever received it that would Of been my favourite item As i always had a soft spot for That character.
As much as I enjoyed the first three movies (episodes IV - VI) I was never into the toys. That said I have the complete set of Ferrero Kinder Egg Star Wars Happy Hippos which are a hilarious spoof of the movies. I also have the complete Burger King set of tie-ins to Episode III Revenge of The Sith from 2005.
I love those Hippoes too Ed and a few years back I found a bundle in a German charity shop. Hilarious figures. Not sure of the Burger King Sith stuff. Send us a snap Darth Ed!

ReplyDeleteHallelujah, another person who never "got" Star Wars - thank you! SFZ
DeleteDid you use a Graflex camera flash Kevin?
DeleteNo, I couldn't get one, they're too expensive. I used aluminium tube and an old projector lens!
DeleteAny chance of a pic or two Kevin?

Amazing Arto, an icon in itself! I wonder who ended up with bootleg VHS copies of the ROTJ?
