Ed's Ferrero Star Wars Happy Hippos

Woodsy,

Here's a few pics of the Happy Hippos Star Wars crew from 2002.

To the best of my knowledge there were 10 figures, the Landspeeder, and a 150pc puzzle. Each of the figures has a nice insert with a short storyline of the character, but unfortunately, I only have five of the ten inserts.

I haven't yet started taking photos of my Burger King 'Revenge of The Sith' stuff.

  1. Holy Mash-up Batman!
That's doubly weird for me, because I'd never seen these Hippo characters before, and mash-ups depend on audience recognition to sell the joke.
Speaking of which, I just found a bargain priced Masters of the Universe figure.
It's a masterful (sorry!) Blend of MOTU and Transformers!
Skeletor as Megatron! Pure genius! And the package art is a brilliant blend of both period toy lines.
Are you familiar with this toy line Moonbasers?
I'm almost tempted to make a Teela/Arcee mash-up to match!

Totally mad, and great fun. I do not think I have ever seen these before.

  3. By far the coolest, and weirdest, Star Wars spin-off I have ever seen - Yikes! SFZ

  4. Thanx all! I agree, this was a totally weird mash-up. You would have had to be a Kinder toy collector in Germany to appreciate the Happy Hippos series (which was apparently hugely popular), then you would have appreciated this series of totally off-the-wall figures. I luv 'em! LOL
