They have always seemed to be rare in the wild but on eBay they can be thick and way overpriced. And almost all the skigulls are missing their skids, the cloud hopper missing prop blades and maching birds missing the engine covers along with random landing gear missing. I did not have these as a kid but a friend did. He had two or three planes and the tower set. I’ll send pics of my planes soon. I’ve a full set plus extras.
I’ve managed to find all six planes now in fair condition and an Air Race set. They were only made hope twelve months, as they didn’t seem popular with kids, probably due to the fiddly setup and having fishing line draped all over the house! The planes were sold carded and were beautifully packaged. I got a Ski Gull recently and a kind chap who restores Redlines on youtube sent me an SQL file, so i could get a set of skis 3d printed. A wonderful line of toys, but now almost forgotten. Bill

ReplyDelete(Oh, I can't say that, can I ?)
Bum bum tish!
ReplyDeleteThese must be rare Will. I don't recall ever seeing Hot Birds when I was a kid or indeed now at boot sales.
ReplyDeleteI assume that the individual planes came carded like the Redlines , but I’ve never seen any. Anyone know? Will O
