For it's a Jolly Good Faller

I recently picked up these two plastic biuldings in a scrap store.

They were dearer than I'd like - £15 the two - but really quite lovely.

There's a smaller Alpenblick mountain restaurant and a large block of flats with shops at the bottom. The tiny detailing ist wunderbar!

Both are plastic and have wiring, which I assume is for lighting.

I tried to illuminate them myself with fairy lights but to no great success.

Do you think these are Faller biuldings for train lay outs?

I do not know about the make, but they certainly look as though they are intended for a model railway layout. A great find, and very impressive models. Excellent backdrops for model photography.

  2. If these were only £15, in total, for both, then youve got a real bargain there Woodsy.
    I think they're great.

    1. Yep, fifteen for both. There were three smaller ones at a fiver each but I was happy with these two. Have you been to a scrap store Mish?

    2. If by 'scrap store', you mean a charity or 'vintage' shop, then yes, but I rarely find anything I'm after.
Only '60s and '70s annuals, occasionally.

    3. A scrap store is a recycling shop selling surplus odds and ends for crafters and projects. Stuff like bottle caps, old plastic tubes, metal brackets, foam off-cuts, card poster tubes etc. They also sometimes have vintage toys like these German buildings. There'll be one near you somewhere Mish.

  3. These are absolutely gorgeous, both are large and complex, which is the way I like my German buildings. A bargain for sure! SFZ

  4. Nice models Woodsy. Faller, Kibri, Heljan were all European makes that I had at least a couple examples of in my HO scale days.

    1. Brill Ed. I only know Faller. Can't see any brands on them.
