Starburst was a film and TV magazine launched after Star Wars took off. TVSiFi monthly was a larger magazine that covered the TV shows I was into at the time, Space 1999, Star Trek Doctor Who and the Bionics series.
I got the first issue of Science Fiction Monthly with Discovery on the cover, they had some lovely poster sized prints in them. I recall buying Starburst from issue 1 too, all long gone now. Bill
I had at least one issue of each of these titles back in the day. Your copies appear to be in excellent condition! One point: the copy of SCIENCE FICTION MONTHLY with the review of SPACE: 1999 by John Brosnan was at one time quite rare and highly valued. I am not sure if that still holds true in these post-eBay times...
I collected TV Sci Fi monthly and Starburst at the time.
ReplyDeleteDid you keep hold of them Kev?
DeleteNo, I didn't . I wish I'd kept TV sci fi monthly, but I'm not bothered about Starburst.
DeleteWhy, what was the difference Kev?

DeleteOmni was a favourite of mine in my late teens. I used to get the best party kitchen facts ever from it!
ReplyDeleteThey tried a reboot

ReplyDeleteMe too! A pivotal element in my teen development!
DeleteI still have some examples of most of these mags/specials somewhere, along with copies of Starlog, and Fangoria.
ReplyDeleteWow, Fangoria. I used to get the odd copy too Mish.
