One of my favorite 50s monster movies. I liked it so much that in college, when I started collecting 16mm films, I bought a mint 16mm TV print of this classic, and owned it for years. The original co-feature, The Killer Shrews, is also terrific. Gotta love the 50s - a low-budget indie sci-fi and horror golden age! I feel sorry for people who dismiss these movies as trash - they are little treasures to many of us. SFZ
Saw it on TV in grade school. The local TV station would play B movies when the afternoon baseball game was rained out. Saw "The Blob" with my buddy Wayne the same way.

ReplyDeleteNever seen either of them SF. I know that's terrible. I've seen lots of B-movies but I passed these by. Obviously wearing the wrong shrews! 😃

ReplyDeleteI love how the TV station was aware of the afternoon baseball progress! Amazing! As for the Blob, what a film! Steve McQueen's sci-fi moment!
