SNAP TOGETHER! The Addar Jaws Bottle Kit

Yep, why stop at a message in a bottle. Let's shove a shark in one too!

Those bottle boys at Addar did just that in 1975, releasing a neat boxed kit that was snap together! What else could it be being Jaws!

Here's a few shots of one I saw on auction.

For a more detailed look at making the kit then maybe check out this fan video on You Tube,

Have you got this kit?

Actually, I do have that kit, and built it in the 1970s. For a short time, I had a pen-friend in the USA, and he sent me this kit. It is the only Addar kit I have ever seen.
Addar did a line of Ship-in-a-Bottle kits (originally by Gowland and Gowland in the 1950s), and re-used the bottles for various other diorama sets. There were several for Planet of the Apes, a dinosaur one, and the Apollo-Soyuz space mission. Some of the sets were re-issued in Britain by Impulse Toys, but not the Jaws one.
Very simple construction, with a large Shark model, and the diver in a shark cage. With a printed card background to give the scene more depth.

    1. I thought you had made one of these Paul. I wonder why the Jaws one wasn't reissued? I love the box art. Really fantastic picture!

  2. I bought this kit, MIB unstarted, in Sweden some 15 years ago. One of the oddest kit concepts, and Jaws theme made it a killer!
