Rob 's Atlantis H-25 Army Mule

Woodsy,

Here is my stab at the Atlantis H-25 Piasecki "Army Mule," a multi-purpose helicopter used by many branches of the U.S. military. A kit originally released by a tiny outfit called "Helicopters For Industry" way back in 1952!

A wonderful model. Beautifully painted and finished. It is great that so many of these 1950s vintage kits are still around, thanks to companies like Atlantis, and we can travel back in time by building them. Thanks.

    1. Thank you! It has certainly been fun to recreate the teenage model-making experience thanks to folks like Atlantis, this time around trying to get a decent paint job! SFZ

  2. Nice work, Rob. I'm always fascinated by aircraft nose art and this certainly qualifies. What is the story behind this jolly mule?

    1. This chopper was indeed an "Army Mule" and had many distinguished years of service in various branches of the military. I'm just a sucker for twin-rotor choppers! SFZ

    1. Thanks, man! Building these vintage kits over again makes me realize that I probably peaked at 16!
