My immediate thought too! It was Blake's 7, Woodsy. The invading space fleet needed "dozens" of spaceships which didn't look like Federation models. I've always thought the two hairdriers glued together was a masterful solution to buget limitatations!
The first one's good, but the others, especially the sriracha bottle, look rather too much like what they were. The trick is to alter them so they become unrecognisable as what they were.
It did. A ship flown by Travis in the episode 'Star One'. Must make one at some point. The hairdryers aren't hard to get, it's the old R2D2 kit domes that are pricey!
Not as good as the Matt Irvine 'two hair dryers stuck together' spaceship design😊
ReplyDeleteWhich show did that appear in Dave?

I see what you mean Mish.
DeleteMat's hairdrier ship featured in Blake's 7, I believe.

The "Cut Transform Glue" guy is quite creative--though I was screaming at the screen about how he used greebles.
The clear, curved part needed to be a phaser rifle barrel.
I would have put sprue over the vents to keep detail--not slather it over into a simple cylinder.
Incredible creativity!
