A while back during lockdown I recall a company called Century 21 Films making three new supermarionation episodes of Thunderbirds.
It struck me as a massive and heroic mission at the time, to recreate the greatest kids TV show of all time.
Having just remembered six years on and wondering if they ever finished, I've been in search of the episodes, hoping they're available to the public via streaming, so I'm going to look.
In the meantime here's what the company says about them on their own website.
Anyone seen them?

If you find them and they are readily available, let me know, I would love to see them! SFZ
ReplyDeleteI was one of the hundreds of fans who backed the orginal kickstarter and we all got blurays or DVDs of the new episodes plus our names in the end credits! You can watch the episodes on the ITV Retro Youtube channel. Links below.

DeleteI missed the kickstarter, but a friend got me a disc after the launch.
ReplyDeleteThe shows were notable for me, as a longtime friend and co-worker David Tremont went to Weta in New Zealand and never came back!
He was always a Thunderbirds fanatic (like Sir Richard Taylor) and he found a Tbird friendly home there. He was credited for the Thunderbirds Are Go reboot, but I think it was just for planning work. His real joy was getting to make models for the Kickstarter project.
I met up with him again when I went to Weta, to work on The Hobbit and Elysium.
I went with the promise of miniature work, but by the time I got there, Peter Jackson had decided to do all that stuff as CGI.
I ended up doing special props and it was certainly a career highlight.
I'm so glad David Tremont finally got to work on a proper Thunderbirds project!
ItVX eh! Wow, I'll take a look there. Thanks everyone.
