The white rifle has a hint of the Soviet-era AK-47 assault rifle about it, although the body is a lot heavier looking. The Action Man machine-gun is a US .30 calibre Browning mg. I think it is the M1919A4 version, but I am no expert on guns.
The top line on the box has OCT 17 on it. This was the date of the Communist Revolution in Russia, I think. Don't know if that's relevant or just a coincidence.

The soviet info fits Paul. Presumably it was easier to get hold of the toys as props for that film rather than real guns!
