Following hot on the trail of Woodsy's article about those popular '60 - '70's Knights that populated humble homes across our kingdom, thought I'd enter the tournament with my own kitsch contribution.
Enter 'King Arthur Armor's Decanter set', by Nikka.
Gifted to me by a family friend, Arthur now holds court over a colourful assembly of defunct functional decor and favourite grail stuff that I enjoy.
Cheers!

I remember when the shops seemed to be filled with dozens of those wonderful decanter sets. But you just never see them any more. King Arthur looks great.
ReplyDeleteIt is rather spiffing that Tone! There's a definite Dr. Phibes look to King Arthur! Ha ha. How I would love to get a royal snifter from this ace decanter! Kitsch class!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Paul. The once popular Decanter has long ago disappeared from the social scene. From memory, I seem to recall a decanter disguised as a big globe. I probably saw it in a mail order catalogue or TV sitcom.
ReplyDeleteI've bought .. and sold ... Years ago bottle pourers in the shape of a stags head and much more elaborate Mannekin Pis guys. Don't ask where the liquor poured out of!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had some cool and fun wonders there, Woodsy :)
