Looey's Second Hand Sheds

On our road trip home from Melbourne, we passed through Daylesford and Castlemaine. BOTH had extensive second hand market sheds one claimed to be the largest in the Southern hemisphere!

Regardless of the veracity of that claim, there was plenty for Moonbasers to look at.

Stand by for Action, Men!

A nice MG pedal car

Breakfast Cereal Premiums still in their baggies!

Ah, a Beetle Game! I remember playing with one of those at school during a rainy day!

A familiar looking headless woman sideshow banner (did I see that at the Royal Easter Show back in the early 70's?)

You wouldn't believe the size of the Mosquitos around here!

Ooer! That's taun taun it now! Where the heck did that come from?

How Chad was my Valley...

No boots? Soldier you are out of uniform!

...Sweet Sixteen souls, at the drums of Johhny Ringo

Nice tin F111's Mint In Box

No peek at the Harrier inside the box, but!

Nice Tug and Bomber

See anything you like?

Beetle in Britain, Cootie in America, and Creepy Critters in New Zealand. That game had a lot of names.
Those are Grumman F-14A Tomcat swing-wing jets, although the F-111 also had swing-wings, and was flown by the Royal Australian Air Force.

What do we spend all that time training you to look at balsawood models for?

  5. Oz is the spiritual home of plastic cereal premiums - Rosenheim and Lipman (R & L) made all the plastic Kelloggs premiums we know and love and some for other companies too. Its a shame we dont get these wonderful little toys at breakfast any more. Bill

      Too right Bill!
I was amazed as a kid in the UK, to see the R&L logo and Made in Australia on a plastic elephant that marched out of my box of cornflakes!
Moving to Australia, I've seen my fair share of cereal premiums still in fairly good condition.
I think think the last gasp of cereal promotions was a miniature light-up lightsabre from Star Wars Ep 3.
Only in the giant family sized boxes and only (if you read the small print) inside one in three boxes!

"I find your lack of availability disturbing..."
