Space Angel was a revelation to me when it first aired in the US circa 1962. That and its cousin, Clutch Cargo, with those weird and creepy human mouths - were the talk of the schoolyard. I loved those shows so much that in college I bought 16mm prints of both, and we had "Cartoon Parties" in the dorm with other oddball TV toons of the era such as Diver Dan, Courageous Cat, Bucky and Pepito, The Mighty Hercules, and Spunky and Tadpole. Used 16mm TV cartoons were going for about $5 a piece from film libraries in the 1970s - imagine that! Glorious days. SFZ
Diver Dan, I haven't thought about that show many years. I remember him interacting with those fish hanging from wires. A very crude version of the Supermarionation concept.

DeleteIf memory serves the heavy was a barracuda, Barry I think, who found a way to smoke a cigarette under water.
