Mystery Sci Fi Films

We're currently enjoying James Spader in the Blacklist. Seeing him rang a bell and a whole cache of sci Fi flicks came knocking.

Anyone know the names of these? I've forgotten!

James Spader is an astrocryptologst reading symbols in a cave.

Jodie Foster is in touch with her deceased Dad via the family radio.

Jodie Foster works with a massive radar dish.

Amy Adams climbs into a landed UFO.

Val Kilmer faces booming pulses on Mars.

What about James Spader as the recovered drug addict on the Medical space ship in Supernova?

Is Val Kilmer's film Red Planet?
(ahem!) I worked on that one.
Sadly a pretty lacklustre film, but the one of the best work experiences in my career!

  2. Spader in a cave is Stargate, Foster with the radar is Contact - I actually really enjoyed Red Planet, the FX were excellent and Carrie Anne Moss is just worth watching full stop! Bill

    1. Spaders in a cave! Ha ha, that's like Snokes on a Plane! Can't believe it's Stargate. The one with Kurt the Russell?

  3. Val Kilmer's film IS Red Planet, but I think you've conflated two Mars films together Woodsy, as the 'booming pulses' feature in the movie Mission to Mars, which stars Gary Sinise and Tim Robbins.

    1. Ah yes, I'm always conflating Mish! Ha ha. Gary Senise, I get you. Doesn't Tim Robbins lose his wife in space?

    1. Ta. I like Amy Adams. She's brilliant in Superman and fabulously saddened in Justice League.
