I had a couple of sets of these push-along trains in the late 1960s or very early 1970s, a small one, and a larger set, plus a few extra items. In NZ they were sold under the Lincoln International name, and in Australia by Toltoys. Mine also has Child Guidance Toys on the boxes, and I expect these were either British or American in origin. I did not have all the items shown, and certainly not that thing with all the gears. The railway system used red plastic track with moulded-in sleeper detail. There was a matching roadway system with plain black plastic roads.
Doesn’t look familiar Woodsy, although that type of track is ubiquitous to made in China battery operated trains

I wonder with all the geared track whether this is battery operated Paul?
