What a hoot! Star Wars A New Hope auditions!
Over an hour of nervous readings with youthful wannabees like Kurt Russell no less and less-well known actors like William Katt, who went on to star in the cult horror movie House in 1985. Cindy Williams was already known as Shirley in the hit TV show Happy Days and Robby Benson, who I personally don't know at all.
Did George pick the right actors?

DeleteWilliam Katt was the star of The Greatest American Hero, a superhero comedy/adventure series. Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall were in Laverne and Shirley, a spin-off from Happy Days.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen The Greatest American Hero Paul. Amazingly there are some toys connected to the film!
DeleteHarrison Ford is one of the most versatile actors and perfect for the role of Solo. Mark Hamill I personally cant stand, hes so cheesy and on the nose with his acting. Carrie Fisher in here younger days was perfect, in the later series, just before she passed, less so. Bill
