As it's been a packed Spacex afternoon I thought I'd join in, myself, and add a few old photos I've taken over the years of contributing to the blog of some of my Spacex toys.
Fantastic gallery Scoop! You have a fine SpaceX fleet there and stunning snaps. My faves are the final two, the flying LT10 and the Apollo Tracker. Sublime!
Small space toys are great fun, Ed, although totally unconvincing in a diorama setting. Thankfully, my regular viewers enjoy them and allow for an extreme willing suspension of disbelief . ; D
Cheers Zigg. I still keep an eye out for the odd gap in my collection, but sadly, I've more or less given up on collecting Spacex toys nowadays, as it became apparent a while back that some people were prepared to pay ridiculous, sums for them. As I say, I still pick them up if they're reasonably priced but If somebody wants to pay a heck of a lot more than me, I'm not daft enough to stand in their way . :)
Great shots of 'hard to photograph tiny toy spacecraft and vehicles. Never seen that purple helicopter thingy. Nice. And I like the idea that they have at least 7 forklifts. Now that's a proper Spaceport !
The design for the Helicopter first appeared in a TV 21 Agent 21 comic strip, Mish., and the forklift appeared in a TV21 Fireball XL5 strip. You're absolutely right about photographing those small toys. Trying to get a reasonable depth of field with all the toy in focus is certainly tricky . I much prefer taking photos of larger toys and models.

ReplyDeleteFrom back in the early days of the blog, Woodsy. Sadly, the diorama board is no more, although it did its job.
DeleteI'm droolin' here Scoop! LOL Absolutely love the small side of space toy collecting, and of course your awesome toyscapes!

First class scenes, Scoop. They really bring these vintage craft to life.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tony.
