Wow! That level of detail and quality of finish is astounding! It makes the choice of widgets in the original model glaringly obvious too! I wonder why he chose 1/4.4 scale? I was wondering if it was full 1/3 Thunderbirds size, but it's still not big enough!

Good call, Woodsy. You can't be too careful nowadays! I think it's real, too many intricate close ups and cuts. I'm not sure SORA or the other AI Video systems are quite up to this level of consistency yet. -But give them another 6 months!
Superb craftsmanship. The entire build was posted over the past couple of years or so on the Space 1999 Props & Ships Facebook page. Even Brian Johnson was impressed. The Eagle fits in his garage, comes apart in sections and has been on display at a convention in Denmark. There is also a guy in the US who is building a full size Colonial Viper from the original Battlestar Galactica in his garage !

I was just watching it again with an "eagle" eye for fakery. I wondered if it might be a really good piece of greenscreen compositing, as there are no obvious shadows in the interactions between man and model. However, the close up of the polished aluminium thruster quads shows a SLIGHT reflection of his arm, so yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!
The amount of effort I have to expend these days, fact checking reality...
Whilst building this model will have taken a lot of time, it would also require considerable time and effort to fake it. And why would you bother ? I can't imagine the number of clicks such a niche thing will get online, could generate all that much cash.
I wonder how his wife felt about having that thing in the back yard?
