Had a mooch with the Missus around a local Charidee and picked out a few inexpensive morsels today.
here we have a Michael Jackson doll 1984, Matchbox figures and vehicles 1993, Whizzwheels Drag-Star for doing up, two nice Matchbox cars for touching up, a Bandai werewolf egg, a Palitoy Action Man Red Devil boiler suit, two unknown black shoes [they were on the Mike Jackson doll] and a O Letrabot.
The orange monster is a mystery.
I can't date this Letrabot at all. When were they released?
Things I passed on:
Lots more cars including a sealed Dinky toys signs set, which did tempt me but was pricey and a carded Maxwell House helicopter [did these come free with coffee?]
A whole cabinet of delights
including a battered Gerry Anderson Coastguard vehicle and a Klingon Battle Cruiser
Another cabinet held old stamps including my beloved Polska dinosaur Brontosaurus [bottom right]
This Action Man-like Cowboy caught my interest, a doll I'd never seen before.
Here he is among friends from all eras. Its like a Night at the Museum in there!
Turns out they are all by a dollmaker called Peggy Nisbet, who is completely new to me. There was a info card on a shelf - see below - but I can't read it all.
What would you have taken home readers?
Deffo the orange monster, looks electrifying!
ReplyDeleteGot one boxed Peggy Nisbet doll, none other than Henry VIII (no wives included)
Amongst the stamps shown there is a Finnish one too, of type 1891, the one with a two-headed eagle.
ha ha, just found out he's Volt Man Arto! I think there was a Henry VIII in the cabinet. And a Finnish stamp, how could I miss that!
DeleteThe orange monster is a Scooby-Doo villain
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian, I'll look him up.
DeleteThe orange monster; the Dinky road signs, and a good look through all those die-casts. Is that a Matchbox Ford Group 6 car I see in your haul ?
ReplyDeleteIt is Paul. I touched it up with a Sharpie today. Looks great!
DeleteI'd have snagged the Stretcha Fetcha, Badger, the green scout behind it and what appears to be the Mercedes ambulance especially if it had the stretcher in it. The D7 as well as it is about 1/3 of what I keep finding them at here. TB 1 & 4, the Mole and the egg robot. I'm curious if it is actually a wolf or something else. Mattel did import ten of them in, repackaged for part of the He-Man toy line near the end as "Meteorbs". Odds are this is an actual one from the Tamagora from Bandai instead. Cool to have imo.
ReplyDeleteYep it's a wolf Lance. It says Bandai 1987 and CP 05 and some Japanese characters. I have Dracula in the attic somewhere, which was my daughter's in the late 80's.
DeleteThank you! I was able to pull up a pic of CP 05. Kind of a wth? design when it is in werewolf form. Dracula is such a Japanese design, CP 06 and seems to have some with a bat.
DeleteThey are a great collecting brand Lance but expensive too!
