DAN DARE ARTIST DON HARLEY R.I.P.

I've just heard that artist Don Harley has sadly passed away. He was well known to comic art fans for his work on the original Eagle comic Dan Dan strip. He went on to work on various strips for Solo comic, TV Century 21, and Countdown. I was lucky enough to meet and chat with Don at the special preview event of the 50th anniversary Eagle Exhibition at Southport during 2000.
Here's a photo of Don, along with Greta Edwards Tomlinson, and Chad Varah either side of the bronze Dan Dare bust that was originally situated near Southport Town Hall.
Here's a photo of Don and Yours Truly.
Some photos I took at the 2019 Fanderson Convention of original Don Harley artwork. Our sincere condolences to his family.

  3. I endorse your condolences.

The best period of Dan Dare art, The Man from Nowhere, Rogue Planet and Reign of the Robots all contained art pages combining the talents of Don Harley and Frank Hampson.
