Unlike the Alphans, we Earthbound folks got to find out what living without the moon meant to our eco-system. If only I could remember what that was actually like...
Another time, another place, Lewis ;) Unsurprisingly, there is a lot on line imagining what the Earth would be like if the Moon exploded. From what I read, in layman's terms, apart from lower tides, the seasons would change, the days would be shorter and the nights would be extremely dark. I imagine our eco-system would definitely struggle a bit. If anyone in the future suggests we dump our nuclear waste on the Moon, tell 'em it might be a very bad Idea!
The loss of the Moon would be a mass extinction event here on Earth ... and we'd be the first to go ! (By which I mean Humanity, not just those of us who follow this blog) Mish.
We're sitting on the biggest bomb in history!
ReplyDeleteHow right you were, Commander Koenig! Will you be watching a 1999 episode today, Kevin?
DeleteIt's tempting!
