HIGH BRADFIELD CHURCHYARD

We had an enjoyable rural walk through the ancient Bradfield churchyard about an hour's drive from Moonbase in the Peak District National Park, England.

For some reason old graveyards appeal to me and the Missus. They're sobering hallowed places.

There was a whisper of the spirited season to come next week as Halloween approaches.

  1. I like reading old headstone inscriptions. They can often give a brief snapshot of someones life, Woodsy.

  3. Stunning view from the top of the hill. Almost makes me want to live there. Talking of graveyards, have you read this true tale?

  5. Lovely shots, I do like to see such ancient monuments still in existence. Have to say its not quite as effecting as Heptonstall Cemetery, though!
