Awesome, I've never seen the Anastasia kit before! I was born in 67 so grew up with all things Anderson but love sci-fi from all era's #Mark J
ReplyDeleteAnastasia is not a kit but a handmade wooden model made in the Philippines. It was on Ebay in the US. The same company make models of many aircraft. The company had originally painted little black squares in place of the name. When I ordered mine I sent them a photo of the Dan Dare panel painted for the Science Museum in London by Frank Hampson which showed the correct lettering which they now follow for style.

ReplyDeleteThe Helijet is my adaptation of a US Sikorski S-51 helicopter kit. The helicopter was made under licence by Westland in the UK as the Dragonfly. Frank Hampson based his helijet on it's design and so did I.

ReplyDeleteThat is Dawn. I bought it to complement the earlier 'Annie' that I have which has the even earlier 'Mary' name attached. My Grandmother lived near the Pool of London and when visiting I was always taken to watch tugboats on the Thames in the early 50's
