Missus Moonbase has just told me its Whit Monday today. I was amazed! I'd completely forgotten about it.
Whitsuntide or Whitsun was such a bid deal when I was a kid in the Sixties.
Its another festival that has dissapeared from my life and maybe yours too.
Do you recall Whitsun from your childhood?
What did we do back then? Was it a proper holiday and did we get any toys?
School holiday, and a visit to the seaside- wondered what had happened to Whitsun!
