Reminds me of Pitch n Toss with coins. I love the idea that kids were running money pits on the edge of Las Vegas!WOODSYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13456645970983569001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-64331936292750257862016-02-18T20:09:43.135+00:002016-02-18T20:09:43.135+00:00My sister and I used to use chairs with blankets d...My sister and I used to use chairs with blankets draped over them to build 'haunted tunnels' for each other to go through. No cost and far less elaborate than what you describe. I've seen my friends' kids do the same thing.

As for money making schemes. There was a season at our elementary school where everyone went nuts for marbles. I don't remember anyone playing the traditional way, trying to knock the opponent's marbles out of a drawn circle. We either played running battles in areas of open sand OR something closer to curling. Pretty quickly certain kids (probably CEOs by now) set up these 'curling' pits along the side of an embankment in the schoolyard and ran them like carnival barkers... 'Try your luck!' A player was really betting his marble... which he'd lose if he failed to hit any of the targets. But the kid running the pit always had marbles he would sell for coin at varying rates depending on size and style.
Our school was right outside of Las Vegas so I'm guessing that had a hand in the origination of the scheme.Timmy Crabcakeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14737954661234574830noreply@blogger.com
