I think the trick is that the same question poses itself simultaneously both in algebraic and geometric universes. In algebraic terms, one eighth of a given whole (ie. number) is by definition equal in measure with other parts: x/8.

However, in terms of geometry, the parts being equal is only a special case of multiple possibilities of slicing up a given whole (ie. a circle).

Since a pizza is more a geometric entity than an algebraic one, I would answer yes, even unequal eighths of a pizza are still eighths.

You'll taste the difference too!Artonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-80635109944133446592017-10-18T11:31:19.217+01:002017-10-18T11:31:19.217+01:00Eight parts or portions, rather than eighths?Eight parts or portions, rather than eighths?Andy Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-46614078836969800582017-10-18T07:48:32.110+01:002017-10-18T07:48:32.110+01:00It's probably best for the survival of Mankind...It's probably best for the survival of Mankind if we don't test the atmosphere burning to see!KevinDnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-3898226458828526972017-10-18T07:46:35.896+01:002017-10-18T07:46:35.896+01:00ill defer to kevs physics training on this one!ill defer to kevs physics training on this one!WOTANhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09284353991724011392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2156181044707591026.post-30382433624505586162017-10-18T07:44:01.213+01:002017-10-18T07:44:01.213+01:00modern Homo Sapiens are descended from the Cro Mag...modern Homo Sapiens are descended from the Cro Magnon, the Neanderthals were a sub species from central Europe who were gradually hunted to extinction. Its theorised that emergent man actually ate them all!

Yes, the air could burn, given the oxygen content, in some areas. I think Cro Magnon was an ancestor of our species.
The language seems to lack good words for unequal portions of something.KevinDnoreply@blogger.com
