Hi Woodsy,
As one or two of the readers seemed fairly interested at seeing the TV21
Saturn Probe stuff, I thought it only fair to let them have a look at the rest
and judge for themselves rather than just rely on my humble opinions. I’ve
scanned what I can but eagled - eyed readers will note that two of the
articles from the series are missing as those particular issues in my collection
are in a bit of a poor state.
Cheers

Cool stuff! Many Thanx for posting!
Great selection Mike! I really was not aware that Kubrick's "2001" was so freely used for illustrations. Odd considering his tight control over everything later on. But perhaps the promotional decisions were in MGM's hands at that point.
mike - whats the yellow 'bus' on the 80 days spread ?
I had stopped taking TV21 by the time this came out- interesting to see them recycling photos that had bene used in early issues -the "second probe ship" had bene on an early cover -and featured in a Fireball XL5 story too!
That robot in the "Colonies to be set up!" segement is a dummy wearing a real-life "exoskeleton" prototype - made by General Motors, I think - rather like the "power-loader" in "Aliens". The "Sub-star" in the same episode, unloading "pherical submarines" must be from the same study that the card-back illustration from the SpaceX Moonbase was taken from - the spherical moon vehicles are the same!

The exoskeleton is clearly the basis for the Matt Mason Supernaut Power Limbs too!
Not 100% sure but I think its one of the vehicles that accompanied the Crablogger in the Thunderbirds episode Path of Destruction , Wote.
Crablogger - love that thing, I can just hear Barry Grays theme playing as it carves its way through the jungle! That and the Army Sidewinder, class designs.
Class designs indeed.
Makes you wonder why there's been no commercially available kit of the Sidewinder
