When I first saw Yorkie's marvellous scans on the SWORD forum earlier in the week I was gobsmacked. I thought I was looking at kit instructions that included images from the SWORD annual but on second glance I realised that they were actually pages from a book about the kits. And what an awesome book! It's called UFO Chronicle in English. Completely new to me and perhaps to many of you. With that in mind and with Yorkie's OK I've re-posted his scans from the the forum to here to ensure maximum viewing.
I'm so impressed with the author's of this UFO book for actually refering to the source material for the kit vehicles by including the relevant sections from the SWORD Annual, together with the C21 toys and boxes in their book. I've never seen the miniature Imai SWORD vehicles in such detail [apart from Chris King's Moon Prospector posted years ago]. I'm assuming that the simple blue and yellow colour scheme of the SHADOMOBILE and SKYDIVER is the same for the SWORD trio of the Surveyor, Scramble Bug and Prospector. Well, thinking back, we know the Prospector's blue and red from Chris King's photo below at the bottom [sadly missing the red? rail around the body]. Has anyone got the other two in their original blue and yellow or red Imai colours and not painted like these three 'dirtied up' below seen on Ebay earlier this year? Beautiful detail on that modular UFO base! Dibs on driving that cool 6-wheeled 'Scramble Bug', what a well designed ATV!
