But TB2 did go to Venus in one of the TV21 comic strips (I think).

Well remembered! Yes and TB1 got there too. When TB3 crashed there they put boosters on TB1 and TB2 to save the ship and crew. I think even TB4 was lowered into the Venusian ocean (???!!!!) to help. Known science went out the window on that story.

Pretty viscious set of spikes on the front of the heat shield (which shouldn't have made it to martian orbit either).
