I can't believe I'd never seen "Man and the Moon" before! Amazing stuff. That live-action moon mission sequence is years ahead of its time. It's fun to count the similarities to 2001, as well...
I know Captain Bensam. They are brilliant aren't they. and I've promised myself to watch 2001 again in 2011 as a treat. By the way, is your avatat Ka-Zar?
There's definitely a resemblance to Ka-Zar, but my avatar is actually Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth by Jack Kirby. The image comes from a scene in which Kamandi finds some old pre-disaster comic books -- specifically, the first issue of another comic by Jack Kirby, so this image has double the Kirby at no extra cost.
