Feel the Force

This is such a cool old picture from the brilliant Vectis Auction Site. Amazing where Probe Force Three's turn up!
5 points for the name of the grey tripod toy to the left.

It's my old friends the Mechanoids!

You got it Ed! Did you have some?

Yes, as a kid I had two, that came in a set with some spacemen figures.

I only found out what they were after I emailed you with a description and you recognized them as Mechanoids.
That was the end of many years of trying to find out what they had been! I still have one of the "spheres" somewhere, minus the legs, an almost lone remnant from my space toy collection!

Don't quote me - I think it's in a recent copy of Plastic Warrior...but didn't they come in one configuration with the spacemen and another (legs?) with the Darleks??
