Just watching 1997's Deep Impact - you know, Wolf-Biederman. Don't remember any toys coming out. Not like Armeggedon the following year with Brucie Willis and the Creepmeister himself, Steve Buscemi. Which film do you prefer?

They've both got great FX. Armageddon is totally over the top all action with very cheesey acting and Deep Impact has a lot of lovey dovey soul seaching looking for family stuff but does show you the erm impact such an event would have on the population. Armageddon would have been a great Thunderbirds movie. Revell brought out a kit of the Armageddon shuttle but just added a couple of boosters to their regular shuttle kit, so it was nothing like the futuristic one in the film. What a rip off.
ARMAGEDDON hands down.DI had way too much schmooze and religious overtones, Armageddon did what it said on the tin, over the top action with some great vehicles and genuinely funny moments. Plus its got Liv Tyler.
Wasn't struck on either of them to be honest but if I had to choose one it would be "Armaggedon" just of the special effects.
"When Worlds Collide" sort of ruined me for outer space bodies impacting the earth type scenarios. That film is a firm favourite of mine and the Space Ark is one of my favourite space ships ever.
Was always disappointed in the Space Shuttles in these two films...just not exciting or "spacey" enough for my tastes!
I'm with Wotan on this one and as well as the action, Armageddon also had humour and pathos to add to it's recipe that made it a more enjoyable dish! (but I did enjoy Deep Impact)
Anyone seen 2012? What do you reckon to that one, Arks and all?
