Send in the Clones

WOTAN's Space Bird jet remains a mystery [top right on the pop rocket header] but I may have identified the ICBM-like rocket beneath it: the Solar-X Space Rocket by Nomura. The header art appears to be more or less a direct lift of the box art in the same way they lifted the Probe Force 2 image [left]. The Solar-X is actually a Thunderbird 1 clone so the Century 21 links deepen! So two down, one to go. Where is Wotan's elusive XL5-like Space Bird?

On a completely different replicant, I liked this connection so much last year that I've posted it again! Lucky Toys [top] and JR21 [bottom] both made a Saturn V style rocket which were both very similar. Of particular note are the 'biro top' exhausts on both, which we've come to associate with the X series of JR21 toys. Similarly the air vent holes appear in the same place in the middle of both rockets. Did Lucky clone JR21? No matter really, I love both of these toys. Has anybody got the Lucky Lunar Probe No.1? The name sounds like a clear nod to our very own SWORD Probe Force toys. And who on earth are the "The Lucky Toys Trade Development Enterprise Ltd"? You can see it better on the earlier post. Ideas?
